COLLEEN R. MILLER

Global Change Ecologist

Headshot_edited.jpg

I focus on how human activities affect our neighboring organisms. I am fascinated by how global change and light pollution impact the ecology natural systems like agricultural insect pests and native birds. I also have experience in climate change ecology and species distribution modeling. I am interested in adapting open data sets to broad spatiotemporal questions we face during the Anthropocene. Moving forward, I am most excited to reach out to our community, starting a dialogue about science and helping others find their niche in our natural world.

I currently work as a Natural Capital Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute on the Environment at the University of Minnesota. I received my Ph.D. in Ecology from the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology program at Cornell University. I have a M.S. from the Wildlife Ecology program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I also received my Bachelors of Arts in Zoology and German.
